It’s an exciting moment for Attenborough Arts Centre as we launch a callout for new Advisory Board members. Over our 25 year history, we have been an organisation which has put inclusivity at the heart of culture, creativity and contemporary artistic practice. Now we are offering you the opportunity to join our Advisory Board; to share your insights and knowledge while gaining valuable experience about the cultural art sector. Currently, we are hosting an open recruitment process to find between 4 and 7 new members to be on our board with us over the next three years.

Over the years we have had a brilliant and committed Advisory Board who, together have brought a range of personal and professional experiences to inform our work, while challenging us to continually innovate and strive to meet best practice across all of our programmes. These individuals have come from a range of backgrounds bringing their own expertise and knowledge base to the board, and we thank those who are leaving for all they have done for Attenborough Arts Centre. You can read more about the individuals on our current board here.

We believe that being a part of our Advisory Board not only benefits the Centre’s work but also benefits the members, as they gain valuable insights into our inner-workings and are able to grow their own expertises on inclusive practice within the cultural arts sector. Moving forward through this recruitment process, we particularly want to ensure that our Board represents everyone who lives and works in our city. As an organisation, we provide platforms for those who feel unheard or underrepresented and our Advisory Board is no different – even if you haven’t had Board experience previously, if you have personal or work experiences which can help take our work to new people and places, we would love to hear from you.

Successful candidates will be supported to ensure that their experience of being an Advisory Board member is enjoyable and provides an incredible opportunity to grow professionally. Throughout, we have worked to make the application process as simple as possible, with the opportunity to have an informal conversation with our Director, Andrew Fletcher, before making an application. If you would like this opportunity, please email Andrew at andrew.fletcher@le.ac.uk

We hope you will consider joining us as we embark on an exciting new era.
