We Are Celebrating Spring with the Launch of Our New Season

The arrival of spring is cause for celebration and this year we are celebrating before the year is even over. With the launch of our new programme spanning from January to April 2023, we have an incredible range of new Creative Courses, Exhibitions, Performances and Learning events that are sure to have you jumping for joy.

Highlights of the spring season include our ongoing participation in Leicester Comedy Festival, which is celebrating its 30th year as the largest comedy festival in Europe. From the 9 – 26 February we will be hosting over 2- incredible acts ranging from laugh-out-loud stand-up comedy acts to intriguing discussions about the world of performance today.

 

Alongside this, SPARK Festival will also be returning to the centre this February! An unforgettable arts experience for young people aged 0-13 across the city, we will be showcasing three incredible acts for families of all ages, including 14/48 Takeover, Choogh Choogh and Underwater. February is going to be an incredible month for all.

As well as continuing the atmospheric and interactive Playing in Wonderland by Mohammad Barrangi, this season launches two new exhibitions in our galleries. Acclaimed artist Jas Singh presents hippocratic/hypocrite, an inclusive digital arts installation that explores the mechanics of identity and the narratives that surround it, 11 February – 16 April. British sculptor and disability rights activist Tony Heaton presents altered, exhibiting intelligent and thought-provoking work about his lived experience as a disabled person, 25 March – 25 June.

Comedian Rosie Jones brings her new stand up show Triple Threat to Attenborough Arts Centre as she embarks on her first ever UK tour. Star of popular TV programmes including Trip Hazard and 8 Out of 10 Cats, Rosie is a national treasure – join us for an evening of unapologetic cheekiness, nonsensical fun and unadulterated joy!

Creative Courses have only expanding more and more, offering one of our largest programmes ever that ranges from Art History to Hula Hoop Introduction, Metalworking and Jewellery to Modern Punch Needle, and so much more. This season, we have something for everyone in our friendly and accessible spaces taught by our incredibly talented and skilled creative tutors.
