A Creative Journey in Modern Embroidery

Description
6 sessions, starting Wednesday 21 June 2023
Course Description:
Join us to throw the traditional embroidery ‘rule book’ out of the window and develop your own style of hand embroidery. Tutor, Kirsty Freeman, is a big believer that everyone can embroider & has a unique, creative side to explore, whether this will be your first time doing embroidery, or your one-hundredth, we invite you to explore who you are as a creator and to try experimenting and stitching in a new way.
Each week, you will have the opportunity to explore new techniques and discover what you enjoy. The course will begin with mark making and texture exploration, as you learn how to translate your creations into modern stitch patterns. Kirsty will teach you different techniques and share her top tips along the way. Towards the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to combine everything you’ve learnt to create your own final embroidery design.
Course Tutor:
Kirsty Freeman is a designer and maker who fell in love with embroidery when she discovered how calming and beneficial it was for her mental health. From here she decided that she wanted to give everyone the opportunity to fall in love with stitching. In her free time, she runs her business selling embroidery kits, drinks hot chocolate, and spends time with her miniature wire-haired dachshund Oakley.
