Description

4 week course starting on Friday 10 March

Course Description:

Dive into the world of printmaking in this inspiring 4 week course by Johanna Shearer. This course will give you the tools you need to create prints which have high levels of depth, definition and impact. Printmaking techniques have evolved over hundreds of years with collagraphy being one of the most recent developments and is used by contemporary artists to this day to create unique printed artworks, cards and patterned pieces.

Print with confidence as you explore an abundance of collagraph printmaking techniques to develop an extensive range of varied and layered prints. Try intaglio and relief techniques working with recessed and embossed printing plates to produce a range of unique, frame-worthy artworks. Explore carving, layering and collage to add definition, layering and texture to artworks. You will get to use scrims, intaglio inks and printmaking papers and learn from an expert printmaker.

This workshop is led by Johanna Shearer, previously a teacher of the arts in local schools, she has taught at Attenborough Arts for over 4 years including the popular Adventures in Art course, and is an avid printmaker with a huge passion for crafts, collage and colour.
