Family Gallery Workshops

Description
Come and explore our exhibitions with our friendly learning team and use resources in the Salmon Gallery to explore through a range of creative workshops. Each week brings something new inspired by our gallery exhibition The Empire’s Old Clothes by whatsthebigmistry in Gallery 2 – perfect for families and children. Spaces are limited to give people enough space and are pre-bookable only.
When booking tickets, please book the accurate amount of children and adults coming to each workshop. Adults must stay with their children at all times.
Workshops are free for all but we offer Pay What You Can tickets to help support the continuation of this work for our communities.
Itinerary of workshops:
Workshop 1: Wearable art workshop – 17 May, 31 May, 14 June, 28 June
Inspired by whatsthebigmistry’s exhibition The Empires Old Clothes, visitors to this workshop will be invited to celebrate their family vibe, and create wearable artworks that reflect what ‘family joy’ means to you. Use our bright fabrics and craft materials to create a sculpture / costume / or a head dress that reflects the joy you feel, being you!
Workshop 2: Map of my world – 27 May, 7 June, 21 June
Create your own visual map of who you are and what you love best in the world – your family, your favourite food, where you live, where you like to play. This wonderful family activity invites everyone to weave together an artwork that celebrates our unique and collective identities. All maps, materials and sparkly bits provided.
