Family Workshop: Lego Printing

Description
This 2-hour workshop is a fun and exciting introduction to printmaking for children aged 4+. Create your very own printing plate using Lego. Build up layers, patterns and shapes and learn all about the printing process to create your own fantastic prints.
You’ll be taught all the basic printmaking skills, including how to create a printing plate from Lego, hot to ink up your plate and how to experiment with different colours. Tutor Jo will show you how to do everything as a group and then offer individual help and tips as you go. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own unique Lego prints to take home and frame!
Jo is an artist and art educator from Leicester who believes firmly that art is for everyone. After teaching art in secondary schools and colleges in Hertfordshire and Leicestershire for over 10 years she moved into one-to-one tuition and workshops and has a particular passion for printmaking.
Children and young people aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. One adult can attend free with up to 3 children in their care. Please book and pay for child places only and their grown up attends for free, no adult ticket required.
All materials will be provided. Please bring an apron and/or wear old clothes as printmaking can get messy!
We aim to make all our sessions as accessible as possible and carers/PAs are very welcome – just remember to book their free place when you book your session.
