Family Workshop: Modern Punch Needle – Colouring with Yarn

Description
This workshop introduces you to the relaxing and popular craft of modern punch needle to create a textured wall hanging to display at home!
Punch needle expert, Caroline Colam will take you through each step of the way, from stretching the fabric to creating and tidying up the stitches. Enjoy the repetition and rhythm of the punching process – a very therapeutic, mindful and satisfying craft.
Beginning with a brief introduction to the punch needle and its origins, you will discover the exciting potential of the humble punch needle and how it can be applied to wall art, cushions, coasters, plant pot covers and tubs. Learn about the range of tools and materials before getting hands on and creating a beautiful wall hanging. Bring your ideas to life with the punch needle or use one of the provided designs to craft something beautifully unique and handmade.
Your tutor Caroline creates a wide range of fabulously bright and colourful punch needle creations and is passionate about the therapeutic process as well as the finished result. She is an experienced primary school teacher and has been teaching punch needle for several years. Caroline is also a freelance punch needle designer/maker for Hobbycraft, writing tutorials for the Ideas Hub on their website.
