Hammered Copper Christmas Decorations

Description
There’s no need to be traditional and hang baubles, stars and bells from your tree this year, why not decorate with a heart, or a profile of your beloved pet, or even your children’s initials?
Design and make up to five of your own metal Christmas decorations. No experience is required but fun with hammers and tools will definitely be had!
Designs will be drawn onto the copper sheet and sawn out using a jeweller’s saw. The next step is to use the gas torch to anneal the decorative shapes and then texture will be added, by hammering into them or by rolling it into them by wrapping texture around them before passing through the rolling mill. The edges will be filed and sanded before annealing again and then cleaning. The final steps are to slightly dome the shapes by hitting them with a mallet over a domed metal form to give more of a three-dimensional shape and to then to polish and finish them. A hole will then be drilled before threading onto a decorative cord for hanging. Keep them for yourself to adorn your home or wrap up and gift your unique mini works of art.
All materials will be provided.
Participants must be aged 18+.
