Course Description:
In this 4-week course you will learn the basics of simple-loom weaving, with techniques ranging from warping-up to a variety of well-known weaves.
Starting with examples of tapestry weaving, you’ll come to terms with the equipment and different yarns, how to put a warp on a simple frame loom and how to weave with a shuttle as well as pick-up sticks. After, you will be introduced to a range of techniques to create patterns and images with the course aim by the end your complete weaving competence.
Course Tutor:
Based in Nottingham, Sarah Cooke is an established painter and textiles artist. Her passion for textiles has led to her membership with the Nottinghamshire Guild where she teaches ‘weaving with waste’ to address our waste by the creation of something beautiful.
