Silver Earrings and Pendants

Description
A fun and informative one-day workshop creating your own pieces of silver jewellery, suitable for beginners and improvers.
Tutor Kate Bajic will introduce you to key jewellery making techniques including soldering, filing, hammering and sawing. The session will focus on creating earrings and/or pendants, perfect as a festive gift or to wear yourself over the party season. There will be group demonstrations and one to one help, offering you the opportunity to focus on creating your own unique pieces of jewellery.
This course teaches practical metalsmithing techniques and requires a good level of concentration, dexterity and ability to carry out close small-scale work.
Kate has been a studio jeweller for over 20 years, and has sold and exhibited her work nationally and internationally. After attending an informal silver jewellery workshop, her life changed when she worked with metal for the first time, leading her to complete an Art Foundation Course, then a Bachelor of Arts in silversmithing and jewellery, topping them off with a Masters as well. She is not only well educated in the topic, but passionate about every aspect of it as well.
All materials and equipment will be provided.
The workshop begins at 10am and will end at 3.30pm, with a 30 minute break for lunch. Our cafe will be open all day, or you're welcome to bring a packed lunch.
Participants must be aged 18+.
