Attenborough Arts Centre announces its forthcoming 2024/25 performance programme, offering a range of events which celebrate leading artists and local talents, family theatre and vibrant festivals.
Highlights of the autumn season include Musa Motha, made famous to audiences nationwide on Britain’s Got Talent, and Mark Smith in a new dance show. Black Voices, the internationally-acclaimed a cappella choir, will present a special concert celebrating the Black oral tradition. Leading theatre company The Thelmas will also return to Leicester to present Santi & Naz, their acclaimed play about friendship in pre-partition India.
The programme also includes top artists from around the UK including Louise Orwin’s FAMEHUNGRY, Bright Places by Rae Mainwaring and an accessible version of A Winter’s Tale by 1623 Theatre.
Work by Leicester artists features extensively, including Sangita Lakhanpal’s ‘10 Wisdoms of The Great Mother’, Hiten Mistry’s celebration of Bharatanatyam dance, and music from The Robot Needs Home Collective and the Boilers punk collective, plus a whole cast of local and regional performers in Theatre Anonymous’s A Christmas Carol.
Family audiences are in for a treat with engaging and magical productions suitable for all ages, including Luna Loves Library Day, Oily Cart’s new show for PMLD audiences, venue favourite comedy show Baron Von Munchausen, and upcoming in the Spring an adaptation of The Detective Dog by Julia Donaldson.

The centre will also host a series of festivals throughout the year, including the Leicester Comedy Festival, the Spark Festival for children, 14/48 and Literary Leicester, featuring a rich mix of performances, workshops, and community events.
