Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a ticket by telephone, in person, online or via an agency, for any of our performances, courses, workshops and other events, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions of sale.

Valid for all bookings made for performances, courses, workshops and other events from 20 November 2023.

Concessions

We are pleased to offer concessions for many of our performances, courses, workshops and other events to the following customers:

  • Customers in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payments (PIP) (please provide a certificate of entitlement or letter from DWP dated within the last 6 months as proof of eligibility)
  • University of Leicester staff and students (ID required)

A full list of concession options available will be listed in the ‘Book Tickets’ section for each performance, course, workshop or event.

Discounts

To ensure you’re always up-to-date with our latest offers and discounts, please join our mailing list.

We reserve the right to change, add or withdraw any discounts or special offers at any point.

Refunds

Creative Courses

You can cancel a booking and claim a full refund for your purchased course/workshop up to 21 days prior to course start date.

If you would prefer a credit note, valid for 12 months from date of issue, rather than a refund, please tell the box office team at time of cancellation.

If you made payment using a gift voucher, a credit note will be issued.

If you are cancelling your booking less than 21 days prior, or you are unable to attend on the day for any reason, you will not be eligible for a refund

If the course, workshop is cancelled by us, you will of course receive a full refund.

Performances

We do not issue refunds for any performances unless due to cancellation where an alternative date is not found.

Venue Hire

If your venue hire booking is no longer required, the company must notify us as soon as possible.

If the cancellation is received more than 21 days in advance of the booking date, no charge will be incurred.

Any cancellations made with 21 days or less notice will incur an admin fee of 50% of the total amount due.

We reserve the right to refuse venue hire to any individual/group/organisation without providing justification.

Please refer to your contract issued at time of venue hire booking for full terms and conditions.

Credit Note

Credit notes may be issued in lieu of a refund in certain circumstances.

All credit notes will expire on 31 July after the date of issue eg a credit note issued on 20 May 2024, must be claimed before 31 July 2024. A credit note issued on 10 November 2024, must be used by 31 July 2025.

Credit notes can be redeemed as full or part payment against creative courses and workshops, performance tickets and/or full price products from our shop (excludes sale price products).

Cancellations

We do our very best to avoid a cancellation but occasionally, due to unforeseen circumstances, we may need to cancel a performance, course, workshop or other event.

For outdoor events, full refunds will only be offered in the event of extreme weather conditions or safety factors forcing the cancellation of the entire event. No refunds will be issued if the event goes ahead, if the event is moved indoors, or if at least half of the performance has already taken place.

If we cancel a performance, course, workshop or other event for which you have purchased a ticket, we will notify you as soon as we are able to and issue a full refund.

If you would prefer a credit note, valid for 12 months from date of issue, rather than a refund, please tell the box office team at time of cancellation.

We cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred to you for travel, accommodation or any other related costs as a result of a cancelled or rescheduled performance, course, workshop or event. All such costs are incurred entirely at your own risk.

Age Restrictions

You must be aged 18+ to attend all of our performances, courses, workshops and other events unaccompanied.

Our family performances, workshops and other events are for children and young people aged under 18 to attend but they must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+ at all times.

The information for each performance, course, workshop or event will provide more detail regarding age suitability where applicable.

Ticket Requirements

Generally, everyone attending a performance, course, workshop or event will require a ticket. This is primarily so we know how many people will be attending as we have limits on room and audience capacities.

Essential carers/PAs are eligible for a free ticket when accompanying the person they are supporting. Their free ticket should be added when you book your ticket. If you require a second essential carer/PA, a concession rate ticket will need to be purchased for them.

Babes-in-arms (12 months and below) will not normally require a ticket if they will be sitting on an adult’s lap for the duration. There are, however, exceptions to this eg if the event is a specific baby event – the booking details on our website will specify if this is the case.

All children aged 12+ months will require a ticket for all children’s shows and other family events.

If you are unsure at time of booking, please contact our Box Office team for advice.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone of any age without a required ticket.

Accessibility

We aim to make all our performances, courses, workshops and other events as accessible as possible.

Carers/PAs are very welcome – just remember to book their free place when you book your tickets.

If you may require additional support and/or adjustments to help you participate in our programme, we strongly recommend that you talk to us in advance of booking to discuss your access needs, to ensure we can support you. We are unable to offer refunds if a performance, course, workshop or other event isn’t suitable.

Our friendly Box Office team is here to help 7 days a week – email arts-centre@le.ac.uk, pop in or call 0116 252 2455. If you have a query or request that they cannot help with immediately, they will raise it with our management team and get back to you as soon as possible.

We have four blue badge parking spaces outside Attenborough Arts Centre, plus double yellow line roadside parking very close to the building which blue badge holders can use for up to three hours if our parking spaces are occupied.

We have several accessible toilets on the ground and first floors, and a Changing places toilet on the ground floor.

Attendance

Our venue is a welcoming, safe and inclusive space. It is a very, very rare occurrence but any abusive, rude or otherwise anti-social behaviour, as judged by our staff team, will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave immediately. No refund will be provided.
