Winter Botanical Plaster Casting Workshop
Description
Use plaster casts to capture the incredibly fragile and delicate details found in nature in this new one-day workshop.
Explore the process involved in plaster casting and make two wintery/festive casts of your own during the six-hour workshop.
We will cover rolling out the clay, designing and arranging the flowers and creating your own mould for the casting process.
No previous experience is required.
There will be wintery foliage, berries and flowers for you to choose from or you are welcome to bring small amounts of berries, holly, mistletoe, flowers, herbs, leaves, wildflowers, grasses of your choice if you prefer.
Full-time potter Dee Barnes has taught pottery for over 40 years and produces her own distinct ceramics from her home studio in Grantham. She sells her work online, with several independent galleries, and at ceramics fairs up and down the country.
All materials will be provided. Please bring tweezers with you if you have some, and wear old clothes and/or bring an apron as plaster can get messy!
This one-day workshop will start at 10.30am and end at 4pm, with a 30 minute break for lunch. Our café will be open or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch.
Recommended for ages 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
