Creative Engagement Fellowship

We are proud to be working with the Welcome Trust and the ISSF in collaboration with all colleges within the University of Leicester, embedding creative outputs into research projects.

The Fellows will work collaboratively with the aim of increasing engagement with complex concepts, while helping researchers contextualise their work. All five of the current projects focus on themes of racial equality, and moving beyond ableism. These themes aim to respond to the Black lives matter campaign and taking strides towards understanding and implementing racial equality in research, and meaningful inclusivity of disabled, learning disable and those with experience of ill mental health in research engagement. The title for the five current fellowship projects are:

  • MathsMeets Identity
  • PGR Mental Health
  • Dementia & Ethnicity
  • Racial Equity in Museums
  • Empathy in Medical Training

This is a project that we are very excited about and have been working hard to work with artists and researchers to start awarding the fellowships. We hope that the work produced from this project will help to shape policy and standards moving forward, promoting equality and understanding throughout research and the arts.
