University Road to close for essential works from Saturday 12 – Friday 18 April
Leicester City Council will be completing essential resurfacing work to University Road, between Lancaster Road and Welford Road, from Saturday 12 April – Friday 18 April, inclusive.
This essential road maintenance is part of ongoing improvements to the local infrastructure and is expected to cause significant disruption to traffic and parking around the University of Leicester campus. Lancaster Road and Welford Road will remain open, and the multi-storey car park (MSCP) will remain unaffected, however you may need to find an alternative route if you travel down University Road to the MSCP.
We understand that this closure may cause inconvenience, and the University is working closely with the Council to ensure that the works are completed as swiftly and efficiently as possible. Attenborough Arts Centre remains open as well as Lancaster Road. If you are driving to the centre during these dates, add in some extra time to your journey in case of traffic.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. The resurfacing works are vital for the continued improvement of the local infrastructure, and we will do our best to minimise disruption.
