Description

Tiny & Tall Productions, formerly Tessa Bide Productions, brings you Julia Donaldson and Sara Ogilvie’s well-loved story, The Detective Dog on stage for Deaf and hearing family audiences.

Whether it’s finding a lost shoe or discovering who did a poo on the new gravel path, Nell’s ever-sniffing nose is always hard at work. So when the books at the school have disappeared one morning, Detective Dog Nell is ready to sniff out the culprit!

With British Sign Language, creative captions and spoken English, this engaging production celebrates books and the magic of reading in an inclusive and accessible performance. Expect captivating puppetry; surprising smells and toe-tapping music. Suitable for ages 3-103.
Supported by Arts Council England.

This dramatisation of The Detective Dog is based on the picture book The Detective Dog © Julia Donaldson and Sara Ogilvie 2016, published by Macmillan Children’s Books.

Accessibility

The Detective Dog has been devised to be as accessible as possible for D/deaf audiences.
The show uses integrated British Sign Language which will be used by all cast members, alongside spoken English.
Video Designer Ben Glover has incorporated protected dynamic captions and images onto the set design. These captions will help make the show more accessible for D/deaf audiences as well as encouraging early readers to recognise the rhymes.

What are ‘Pay What You Can’ tickets?

We believe that that arts should be accessible for all. For this reason some of our shows and events this year will be ‘Pay What You Can’, meaning that you decide how much you can or want to pay. This expands access to the arts for those who may not have been able to participate otherwise, or gives others the chance to support those who cannot by paying a bit extra.

You will see multiple prices available for each show or event. You can select whichever price you can afford or would like to pay – thank you.

Age Guidance: Ages 3+
