Our new Autumn Season has landed

We are delighted to let you know that our new autumn programme has arrived. You’re in for a real treat as this launch also highlights our following spring season events!

Highlights of the autumn season include Musa Motha, made famous to audiences nationwide on Britain’s Got Talent, and Mark Smith in a new dance show. Black Voices, the internationally-acclaimed a cappella choir, will present a special concert celebrating the Black oral tradition. Leading theatre company The Thelmas will also return to Leicester to present Santi & Naz, their acclaimed play about friendship in pre-partition India.

We have an exciting range of artist-led Creative Workshops and Workshops coming up throughout the season including Print Journey, 30 September  – 28 October, where artist Natasha Deighton explores different ways of making art through print.

If you love nature and being creative or want to create in a more sustainable way, we have an Introduction to Natural Dying and Sustainable Textile Art with tutor, Bean-Mhi Berriman.

Due to popular demand, the autumn programme also includes our new range of one-day weekly workshops designed to encourage flexible learning in Pottery For All Workshops, as well as Beginners Sewing DayBeautiful Beaded Jewellery and Festive Fused Glass Decorations. Designed for drop-in learning, to allow you to enjoy new creative opportunities while still learning at your own pace.

Our new visual arts programme for 2024/25 include three major exhibitions, showcasing the work of Jenny HolzerTim Fowler and the Disability Arts Movement. As a leading centre for contemporary art, we are working in partnership with Tate and the National Galleries of Scotland as well as Shape, the national disability-arts charity.

The exhibitions will run from June 2024 to May 2025 and feature a wide range of art forms, disciplines, and subject matter, to captivate and inspire Leicester audiences.

Alongside Exhibitions, Performances and Creative Courses, Attenborough Arts Centre also runs a range of free events to engage local communities including Family Gallery Workshops each Saturday during exhibitions, free Sunday Sessions in the café with creative activities from 12pm – 4pm and Soundbites Lunchtime Concerts every Tuesday.

With such a range of events on offer, there is sure to be something for everyone this autumn at Attenborough Arts Centre.
