The holidays are fast approaching which means it is time to celebrate the season with events on in Leicester.
Our founder Richard Attenborough played Father Christmas in the 1994 film Miracle on 34th Street, so we cannot help but get in the spirit ourselves with upcoming creative workshops and performances. Get in the spirit and learn a new craft with workshops such as Felt Wreath Making and Bargello Embroidered Star, or try something unique with Festive Fused Glass Decorations and Copper Christmas Decorations workshops. We have something for everyone to get involved with and create a unique gift for themselves or their loved ones.
With the days getting darker it’s the perfect time to explore the new Leicester Christmas Market and end the day with a heart-warming show! This December we have The Winter’s Tale by 1623 theatre company, the UK’s premiere of Tracy Young’s gripping new translation of Shakespeare’s bold and moving play co-created by Deaf, disabled, LGBTQ+, global majority and working-class theatre makers. 14/48 returns to Attenborough Arts Centre with Theatre Anonymous: A Christmas Carol, seeing a cast of performers rehearse in secret, only discovering each other’s identity live on stage in front of an audience. An adaptation of Dicken’s classic, this unique version brings the family festive classic to life!
