Description

Make beautiful embroidered patches to repair or just add flare to fabric. Learn a new skill and save your much-loved clothes from landfill!

Use basic fabric stitches to create colourful sashiko patches for knees, elbows and more. The word sashiko translates as ‘little stabs’, referencing the simple running repeating and interlocking patterns. This workshop is designed to celebrate mending and reusing but can be used in many other ways too.

Tutor Bonita Keay is a passionate crafter and always says making is part of who she is! She started her handmade business journey in 2007 when her children were small and now sells regularly at craft fairs (including our Attenborough Arts Centre fairs!). Bonita is also an experienced tutor, sharing her knowledge, skills and passion with adults and young people, inspiring creativity and wellbeing wherever she goes. She sources all materials ethically and sustainably, supporting other small businesses where possible.

All materials will be provided.

This 3-hour workshop will start at 6pm and end at 9pm.

Participants must be aged 14+. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
