We are taking part in Kids Aloud, a campaign to encourage family-friendly visits and curious minds!

Art Fund’s Kids Aloud initiative makes it easy to find family-friendly events and activities near you, and at Attenborough Arts Centre we have a range of workshops and free events that are inspiring for everyone.

We are a member of Art Fund, a charity that connects museums, people and art. For 120 years, they have been helping museums and people to share in great art and culture because they believe that access to art is vital for a healthy society.

As part of Kids Aloud our current exhibition, Jason and the Adventure of 254, is the perfect space for children as the work is interactive and encourages families to explore, thinking about exhibitions in a new way. From artist Jason Wilsher-Mills and the Wellcome Collection, the exhibition is a kaleidoscope of colours and a touch of magic realism, celebrating Jason’s family, his working-class background and the opportunities he received through hospital education, inviting audiences to explore childhood memories and creativity through the artist’s trademark humour.

Our weekend events offer a fun opportunity for families to get involved in the arts with our free Saturday Gallery Art Club, where anyone can get creative, explore art hands-on, and take inspiration from our latest exhibitions to create their own work. All materials provided, you get the opportunity to create in whatever medium you find most interesting or exciting.

Each Sunday we also have Sunday Sessions, to give free opportunities to get creative in a welcoming and engaging environment. Visitors are welcome to join in crafting, board games, chalkboard activities, and more with each week offering up new and exciting activities that everyone can get involved with.

Across our programmes we have a wide range of opportunities for families and children to engage with the arts and culture, so explore our what’s on by clicking here today.
