In Gallery 1 we have a range of workshops and courses for ages 12+ to try something new. Whether it is a one-day creative writing workshop based on the winter, a fused glass winter scene, or creating your own card and gift-wrap with lino-printing, there is something for everyone.

Light Up Macramé Star

In this relaxed 3-hour workshop you’ll make a twisted textured winter star. Using just one macramé knot it’s super easy to create even for the novice crafter.
Writing the Winter

During this one-day practical writing workshop we will explore themes around winter, the changing weather and environment, the various festivals and celebrations that occur – from Bonfire Night, to Diwali, Christmas and the winter solstice.
Festive Fused Glass Decorations

This workshop is open to all ages and abilities as you learn how to create a sustainable wreath using felt knotting techniques and experiment with embellishing and adorning your wreath with a variety of wooden decorations, ribbons and dried fruits.
Modern Christmas Calligraphy

Tutor Rosie will teach you how to write in the modern calligraphy type and harness your own style, using loads of different mediums and surfaces. This course will help give you the confidence to use your new calligraphy skills for a wide range of festive uses such as personalised gifts, decorations, cards, gift tags and more!
