You may notice that Attenborough Arts Centre is increasing the price of some of its Creative Courses and workshops this season.
Creative Courses prices have remained at a similar level for the past four years and while we aim to keep them as low as possible, we need to balance against significant financial increases. We have established a Pricing Review Group as part of our Advisory Board which has agreed our pricing structure from 1 September 2024. We believe that this still represents fantastic value for money and allows us to maintain the quality of our courses in the face of rising costs.
Attenborough Arts Centre is a not-for-profit organisation which needs to generate £600k in earned income and fundraising each year. We are grateful for the long-standing support of our patrons and we continue to offer a range of lower cost and free programmes including Adventures In Art – our weekly drop in adult art sessions – Saturday Family Gallery Workshops, Sunday Sessions and of course our free art exhibitions.
If the prices of courses go up and courses continue to be paid in total at the front end, perhaps the Pricing Review Group would consider allowing those who cannot afford this to pay in two halves or else split payment. This would be in the name of recognising a more ‘ inclusive’ approach to the price structure.
Hi Deb, thank you for your feedback! We will certainly raise your idea with the Pricing Review Group and ask them to investigate split payments further.
