Over 600 visitors support local artists at our Craft & Art Fair
On Saturday 27 April over 600 visitors came to our centre to take part and get some goodies from our Craft & Art Fair. A highlight in our programme, the fair hosted over 50 selected exhibitors both local and from across the UK.
The fair brings together communities to support independent artists and share in the love of craft. Ranging from ceramics, glass, textiles, homeware, jewellery, accessories, wood, painting, printmaking and more, there was something for everyone! Our galleries were open all day to explore the exhibitions ‘Traces’ and ‘Unlocking the World’, while the café and outside deli offered warm food and drinks for everyone.
Many crafters and visitors gave wonderful feedback about the quality of the talent on offer and the incredible opportunity it provides to bring crafters work to new audiences. We truly believe in supporting local crafts and arts within our communities, which is what makes hosting the Craft and Arts Fair every year such a delight.
A massive thank you to the Alan Caine estate who generously donated some of his work for sale on a Pay-What-You-Can scale to raise essential funds. His artwork raised over £1900 to help us continue to ensure the arts are accessible to all here at Attenborough Arts Centre, and many visitors got to take home a unique piece of art from Alan’s collection.
Our next Craft & Art Fair will take place on Saturday 1 November, perfect to get in all those holiday presents. See you there!
