It is here! We are thrilled to announce our part of UK New Artists City Takeover in Leicester, taking place Friday 25th – Sunday 27th February 2022. Out of over 75 artists, we are exhibiting eight incredible artists works that highlight our exciting young artists today.
Founded in 2008, UK New Artists champions the next generation of artists to support their creativity, while promoting collaboration and intercultural dialogue to ensure a more diverse cultural sector for us all. Over the years they have supported 1500 young artists across five major City Takeovers in the East Midlands, drawing in audiences of over 130,000 to experience incredible work all for free. Their creative platform brings together artists of all disciplines to truly showcase the vibrant work of young artists today.
From Friday 25th, venues across Leicester will be taking part by showcasing exhibitions, performances, artist talks and workshops as part of the Takeover. At Attenborough Arts Centre, we are exhibiting the work of eight incredible artists within Gallery 1: Jarvis Brookfield, Mustafa Boga, Claye Bowler, Morgan Dowdall, Beverly Duckworth, Lucy Gregory, Pratima Kramer and Piotr Krzymowski, the work curated by Saziso Phiri.
