This event will be bookable on Monday 3 August 2026.

A vibrant six-week course exploring the creative possibilities of printmaking.

Discover a range of techniques, including monoprinting, lino printing, collagraphs, and mixed-media processes, and experiment with colour, texture and layering.

Through tutor demonstrations, hands-on studio practice, and creative exploration, you’ll develop practical skills, gain confidence with different printmaking methods, and create a unique body of original work.

Week 1: Introduction and Exploration

An introduction to monoprinting, lino printing, and collagraphs. Explore mark-making, texture, and visual research while generating ideas for your personal project.

Week 2: Developing Techniques

Build confidence through demonstrations and practical exercises. Experiment with colour, layering, and composition while beginning to develop your imagery.

Week 3: Project Development

Refine your ideas and chosen techniques. Explore how different printmaking processes can be combined to strengthen your visual language.

Week 4: Expanding the Series

Produce and review a growing body of work. Develop consistency, edit your outcomes, and identify the most successful directions for your project.

Week 5: Refinement and Resolution

Focus on resolving your prints through technical refinement, editing, and individual guidance. Prepare work for presentation.

Week 6: Presentation and Critique

Complete and present a cohesive series of prints. Reflect on your progress through group critique and discussion, and consider future directions for your printmaking practice.

Whether you’re looking to try something new or expand your existing practice, this course offers the freedom to experiment, combine techniques, and develop your own visual language in print.
