This event will be bookable on Monday 3 August 2026.

Develop your piano-playing skills in this relaxed and informal monthly performers’ club.

Join pianist Jude Richardson on Sunday afternoons in this casual piano group class dedicated to helping you gain confidence as a pianist and performer.

You can bring finished pieces, music you’ve just started looking at, original compositions, or anything else you like to play on piano. Each person is given an opportunity to play their piece on our grand piano, and hear from an audience of fellow pianists what they enjoyed about the performance. Jude offers brief feedback and ensures that each performer is given the space and time they need to achieve their best. If you end up deciding not to play, there’s no pressure as you can sit back, enjoy the other performances, and learn from the conversations and feedback. Additional activities include sight reading duets, piano accompanying with solo singers and instrumentalists, and the opportunity to receive brief one-to-one feedback from Jude.

All ages and skill levels welcome. Under-18s must be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times.

The club aims to increase opportunities for developing your performance skills, support nervous players to play in a friendly and relaxed setting, encourage alternative styles of performance and simply share and spread the love of piano playing to form a growing community in Leicester.

”The group is the most wonderful way for like-minded enthusiastic piano people to get together to hear the brilliant pieces being worked on. No matter the skill level, you are welcomed with open arms. This is a great safe place to be inspired to become the best that you can be.” – Piano Club member

Each session is £10 full price / £7.50 concessions.

Please book each date individually.

About the tutor:

Club leader Jude Richardson is a pianist and music educator with experience across genres and performance styles in the East Midlands area. Born in Bermuda, his exposure to gospel and classical music fostered a passion for the piano and he gained a scholarship to study music at the Bermuda School of Music at age 13. Going on to receive further funding to study in the United States, he has studied and performed in Colorado and the Midwest, first studying with pianist Alice Rybak and then completing his Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance with Evelyne Brancart at the renowned Jacobs School of Music.

Moving to Leicester in 2022, he has performed with East Midlands ensembles including the Leicester Symphony Orchestra, Knighton Chamber Orchestra, and the Rugby Rococo Players. He is increasingly in demand for his keyboard skills in reggae, Motown, and jazz, performing mostly recently with Tanni Browne & The Ankh Band for the Leicester Caribbean Carnival 2025. As a music educator, Jude teaches piano performance and keyboard skills and loves to share his passion for the piano with this monthly community music-making piano club.
