Life Drawing Masterclass
This one-day masterclass is for those with some experience of life drawing. You will explore a wide range of styles and techniques to draw and paint the human figure. Participants will be encouraged to challenge their practice to create something new and unique.
You will begin by experimenting with a variety of drawing and mark making techniques using different media, looking for ways to take your studies to the next level.
Participants will be asked to consider what they hope to achieve in their artwork and discuss their artistic influences.
After a short lunch, the group will look at and discuss a large collection of contemporary and more traditional figurative artworks brought in by the tutor, and consider why they are (or aren’t) successful pieces of work.
Tutor Scott will also demonstrate palette mixing for successful flesh tones, discuss composition and the importance of having a goal in mind as you paint. The emphasis here is to go beyond mere accuracy and to move on to the production of art, self-expression and the development of a personal style.
Scott is an experienced painter and tutor. He graduated in fine art from Chelsea School of Art in 1991. He has been teaching life drawing for over 30 years and exhibits across the UK and Italy.
All materials are included in the masterclass fee but participants may bring a canvas in with them for the final painting if they wish, otherwise card will be provided.
Our café will be open all day, or you are welcome to bring a packed lunch.
Participants must be aged 18+.
