Attenborough Arts Centre to close in line with Government Guidance

Outside of AAC in bright summer sun

Today’s government announcement which places Leicester in tier 3 means that the Attenborough Arts Centre is unable to reopen at the end of the current lockdown and will now remain closed until early next year.

We will keep the situation under review and hope to reopen in January 2021, dependent on Leicester moving out of tier 3 and the government permitting us to open. We would like to thank you for your support and patience during 2020, and look forward to welcoming you back through our doors as soon as possible.

We are incredibly disappointed to be closed again, having had such a positive response when we opened in September following months of closure. It was such a pleasure to be able to welcome both Students, members of the public, and artists through our doors, and we were blown away by the wonderful feedback comments from you about how great it was to be back.

While we are closed we will continue to offer a curated programme via Studio Attenborough, and our online courses will continue as scheduled with sessions delivered via Zoom and Teams.

Up-to-date information is, as always, available on our website and through social media.
