Attenborough Arts Centre is a unique venue, perfect for a wide range of events.
Whether you’re planning a corporate gathering, a performance or a creative workshop, we offer flexible spaces that can cater to your needs. An ideal location to host an event that leaves a lasting impression, let us help bring your vision to life.
Our Hall and Studios are equipped with features like built-in projectors, screens, and sound systems to ensure your event runs smoothly. For larger events such as performances, conferences, and concerts you can hire our Diana Princess of Wales Hall, which includes a full sound system and lighting rig. Additionally, we provide expert technical and staffing support to ensure everything goes off without a hitch.
We’re open every day of the week throughout the year, except during University of Leicester holiday periods (usually Bank Holidays, Easter, and Christmas/New Year). Our usual opening hours are 9am on weekdays and 10am on weekends, with closing times ranging from 5pm to 9pm, depending on the schedule. Our café is also open daily, though its hours may vary.
With our spaces in high demand, we recommend booking early to secure your preferred date and ensure your event runs smoothly.

FAQ's
- The concessionary rate is available to registered charities or partner arts organisations only.
- If catering is required please email catering@yourlsp.com with your request or use our café. Venue hires do not have access to our staff kitchen.
- Our building is smoke & vape free, including the studio balconies. Please go off-site if you wish to smoke.
- Absolutely no naked flames allowed, no candles or incense. Smoke/Haze may be used only with an in-house technician present.
- Guide dogs and registered support animals are welcome at Attenborough Arts Centre, please ask a member of staff if you require a water bowl.
- In case of an emergency, our muster point is the car park. Venue hires are required to follow the instructions of Attenborough Arts Centre or University of Leicester staff at all times.
- First aid and Security support are available from reception or via your duty manager if applicable.
- Your booking needs to cover your get-in and get-out times completely, including set-up and take down. You will not be able to store items in our building outside of your event times.
- Please leave the room in a fit state for the next group, with all litter in bins, tables wiped, crockery returned to the café and any ordered catering left outside of the room for collection.
- Parking at the Medical Sciences Building immediately next door to Attenborough Arts Centre is available to our visitors after 5pm on weekdays, and all day at weekends. If the barrier is down, just press the buzzer and say you are here for Attenborough Arts Centre.
